Above All Co. The Forearm Forklift moving straps were designed in 1997 by a professional mover who is still very active in the industry. After many years “on the truck” he felt compelled to invent a tool that actually eliminated the risk of floor damage. A claim that only the Forearm Forklift can make since the dolly and hand truck require the rolling of wheels on your sensitive floors. Coincidentally, he also designed them ergonomically to encourage proper lifting techniques and body mechanics. They are actually the first and only OSHA accepted moving tool ever to reduce potential injuries due to heavy and repetitive lifting.

Benefits:
- Reduces weight of item being carried by 66%
- Creates handles on any hard-to-handle pieces
- Great for going up and down most stairs or truck ramps
- Tight turning radius (excellent for 90 degree turns in hallways and switchbacks in staircases)
- Will never scratch wood floors, break tile, stain carpets or rip vinyl (linoleum)

The Forearm Forklift was awarded “Best New Product of the Year 1999″ by the Industrial Equipment News whose constituents are solely top professionals in the business.

Lived up to the hype – cool product.5
I try to filter out the hype that sometimes ends up in reviews on this site – but the reviews on this product seemed to have a bit of truth to them so I ordered them. I am very impressed; these really do help out.

One of the biggest challenges I often have when working around the house is moving large items by myself. My wife is always willing to try and help but her will is sometimes larger than her muscles.

Now, these make it much easier for us. Last weekend, we used these to move a washer and dryer from one end of the basement to the other. No problem at all. Before using these, I would have struggled to get this done but these straps made it very easy for her to help me and we got the job done quickly and probably much more safely. It was so easy I was almost laughing.

Enough said… these lived up the hype. I’m very glad to own them.

Forearm forklift helped in a jam4
Not to long ago I moved into a new home. I used the forearm forklift many times. I found it was ideal for moving big items, for example my 65″ projection tv, which weighs roughly 350lbs. Without the forearm forklift it took 4 men to move, with the forearm forklift it took 2! The only downside to this product is using it to go up or downstairs with big items. It is not easy almost scary, I found it to be safer to not use the straps then pick them up after the steps.

Good, but not great3
The forearm forklifts work very well for lifting heavy things (washers, dryers, couches, etc) on flat surfaces. When you try to go up stairs, the person on the bottom has an easy job, and the person going up at the top should probably have arms like Rocky. For going up stairs with LARGE objects, I actually have a product called “Shoulder Dolly”.

Forearm Forklifts are quicker for flat surfaces, but for going up stairs, you need something that goes over your shoulders.

Best iPhone/iPod Docking Clock Radio5
I searched a long time for a combo clock radio and docking station for my iPhone. Although there are several on the market, I wanted something that took up as little space as possible on my night stand, had a display with large numbers, would charge my iPhone, play music from my iPhone as the alarm instead of the radio, and was easy to use.

I FOUND IT!! This Sony clock radio is great, and has TONS of features. I like the large illuminated display, which has different settings depending on how bright you want the light at night. Setting the alarm is very easy (you can go forward and backward through hour and minutes, without having to run completely through the cycle like most clocks), and there are TWO alarm settings. You can set an alarm for weekdays to get you up for work, and then a separate alarm for the weekend. Pretty cool.

The snooze button is nice and big on top of the unit, and let’s you take the standard 10 minute snooze, or you can keep pressing the button and lengthen the snooze time up to 60 minutes in 20 minute increments. A nice feature.

There’s a sleep feature timer so you can listen to radio or iPhone/iPod music while you fall asleep. For the alarm, you can have a buzz, AM or FM radio, or a tune from your iPhone, and it works great.

Buttons on the front and side are nice and large so you don’t have to grope in the dark, and there are a variety of customizable settings.

The best part is the hidden slide-out docking tray. Pop it out when you want to charge your iPhone/iPod or listen to music through the clock’s speaker, and push it back in when you don’t need it, making the unit’s footprint as small as possible. The docking tray comes with adapters to fit iPhone or iPod. I use mine without either adapter because I have a protective case on my iPhone, but it still fits in nicely.

In reading back my review, I sound like a Sony employee, but I’m not. Have no connection to the product, other than I’m a satisfied customer, and would recommend this unit highly to anyone looking for a docking station/clock radio for their iPhone or iPod. There are too many other features to go into here. Have fun discovering all the great things Sony thought of to include on this unit.

Thanks for a great unit, Sony!

Radio reception is weak, otherwise a terrific iPhone/iPod clock radio4
First off, I want to say that I like almost everything about this alarm clock and that I went to a Best Buy first and tested it (music and all) right next to its bigger Sony sibling (the one with the CD player, called Sony ICFCD3iP CD Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone) as well as the iHomes and Logitech and other competitors. Essentially this one came out the winner in every way IF what you’re looking for is an ALARM CLOCK. This is not a speaker system by any stretch (it’s not even stereophonic, one speaker), it’s not designed to party to or have it produce massive bass sounds. I know this is obvious to most of you but there’s always some imbecile who doesn’t seem to realize that a little alarm clock barely bigger than your iPhone can’t possibly be a stereo system.

As an alarm clock, I loved this little system precisely because it does so much and takes up so little space. The LED lights are not too bright when you go to the lowest setting, the sound is definitely loud enough for you to hear even if you’re in the next room at high volume, the iPhone dock is easy to use and can be used with a case on your iPhone. It also looks good and it’s nice that the dock cradle slides in, overall it looks A+.

Since I also compared this one in person to the Sony ICFCD3iP CD Clock Radio and tested them both simultaneously, I can offer you these observations if it’s helpful to you. I ruled out the iHomes, by the way, because all systems that make you stick your iPhone on top like that are horrible looking, maybe that was cool in 2007 if you thought having an iPhone is cool and you want it brandished like it’s a trophy, but that now looks tacky, dated and cluttered. This comparison is between this Sony product vs the one with the CD player:

–Size: I liked the CD player one more because I actually thought this one looks a bit too small. This is purely personal preference, if smaller is better for you then go for this one.

–Layout: I call this a draw. One thing that’s better on the CD player one is that since it’s bigger, there was room to put the tuner and the preset switches on the sides of the device rather than on the back which is not as convenient. You probably won’t use these two switches much though so this probably doesn’t matter much. One thing I liked better on this one is that hitting the snooze as you’re groggy is pretty safe, but on the CD one, since the opening for the CD player is right in front of the snooze button, you can very well accidentally open the CD tray violently if you hit the snooze and aren’t careful.

–Speaker, sound: Basically a draw for me. The Sony descriptions on Amazon, and indeed even on the boxes of the two products, tell you nothing about power. I had to look under the devices themselves (which got me bad looks from the salespeople) to find out that this alarm clock’s speaker is rated at 10 watts. The CD player’s speaker rated at 16 watts. Normally I’d say this means the CD player clock is better, but oddly at similar volumes in the store, I actually found this alarm clock’s speaker to be better defined than the bigger one from the other Sony, and almost as loud. The bass was slightly better on the other one though. But since this is an ALARM CLOCK and not a speaker system by any stretch, I frankly didn’t care either way, they’re both plenty loud to wake up to music or the radio to and close enough in quality despite the different wattage.

–iPhone dock: here I expected them both to be the same, but I was surprised that the iPhone dock trays are not designed the same, and that this Sony’s design of the tray was actually better than the CD player’s. The CD player’s tray hangs in the air, in that when it opens up there is space under. So when you put your iPhone in you kind of have to grab the tray or else the whole thing tilts, it’s not a good setup. The tray that comes out of this clock, on the other hand, has the end of it flush with the clock’s bottom and whatever table it’s on. So it’s much more secure and you can just dock your iPod on it with one hand and not worry about a thing. So the clear loser is the CD alarm, as this one is better designed. Both can fit an iPhone with the case on by the way, just don’t use the tray inserts that come with this.

–LED illumination: here too this Sony beats out the CD Sony. Both clocks have three light settings. I put them side by side and tested them both. The upshot is that the bigger one has much brighter LED lights. When I compared both at the lowest setting, the bigger clock was still pretty bright and would be annoying in the dark (unless you’re scared of monsters at night and want a night light). At its lowest setting, this Sony here was still just a bit brighter than I would have liked, but not nearly as annoying as the CD player’s light. This is a big reason why you see good reviews of this Sony here while the CD player’s reviews are generally bad with lots of complaints about the light level.

I did buy this alarm clock and all in all, I really wanted to love it, but over the past two weeks it has infuriated me with one BIG design flaw that is making me return it because it is fatal. It simply can’t reliably stay tuned to a radio station so as to wake you up to it.

Now if you don’t care at all about waking up to radio, consider this a 5-star review and move on. But I like to wake up to NPR, a strong FM station in my area. I’ve had an 9-year-old CD player alarm clock beside me before this Sony, and not once did it fail to wake me up to a strong NPR signal when the alarm was set. This brand new Sony, on the other hand, comes in and out! You can test it before going to sleep and the sound is 100% clear, and yet when it comes on in the morning it sounds like it is barely tuned to the station unless you play with the ugly and unsightly antenna cable that sticks out of the back of it. Even if you didn’t touch that unsightly cable all night.

Even WORSE, when it comes on like that in the morning, if it is not receiving the FM station well, you don’t even get static noise (which at least would still wake you up), you get nothing but a very faint buzzing that doesn’t wake anyone up! I’ve already been late to work three times on account of this clock’s failure to maintain a lock on a station. I’ve even tried testing the position of the ugly antenna before going to bed and having the volume very high, yet still for no apparent reason at all it sometimes fails to lock on in the morning and you sleep peacefully to 8:30 am to a very low audio buzzing sound that seems to lull you into an even deeper sleep.

The culprit is that Sony really cheaped out on the FM receiver.

How they can make such a colossal design flaw on a product that costs more than competitors like iHome that are larger and with better speakers is inexplicable. I really wanted to love this, but it’s an ALARM CLOCK and if it simply loses connection to a station in the morning despite the ugly antenna cable and can’t wake you up, what good is it? Shame on Sony for having such a design flaw by cheaping out on internal components. Whoever was in charge of approving that is incompetent and should be fired because he doesn’t understand retail products, this is not a $20 alarm clock on which you can use cheap transistors to save 50 cents. This is an alarm clock aimed at a slightly higher market and there is an expectation that at the very least it can be reliably counted on to wake us up in the morning.

REVISED REVIEW FROM HERE ON OUT

I am revising my review, going from two to four stars, because as time as gone by the radio reception seems to have improved (but only after careful placement of the antenna cord and making sure it’s never moved), and I decided that all the positives and the lack of a good competitor warrants better than two stars. It’s still the most compact, efficient and best looking alarm clock out there… I just wish they used better components for the radio receiver.

Great clock and antenna5
I wanted to add a quick note about this clock radio because most of the other reviews for clock radios don’t address the issue that was the most important to me- the strength of the antenna. I was looking for an alarm clock that would get better reception in our bedroom than the one we presently own. This clock is able to pick-up stations that are either too fuzzy to hear or don’t even come in on our current clock.

I also like that the iPod dock slides out, so that I don’t have a large piece of machinery sitting on my bedside table! I am very pleased with this clock radio and my husband is going to be thrilled on Father’s Day!

DVD the best looking version yet5
Apart from the slightly soft, washed-out picture quality during the opening credits of the movie, the DVD edition of LAWRENCE OF ARABIA is superb. The movie itself is spread onto 2 discs, with the disc break occurs just before Intermission. The Overture, Intermission, and the exit music are all played to a black screen, as per director David Lean’s original wish. The picture quality looks as fresh and clean as, quite frankly, any film made in the 90s. In the dramatic shot where Lawrence appears on the far horizon after he rescued his Arab companion, the higher picture resolution of DVD makes it possible for us to notice his tiny figure whereas on VHS tapes or laserdisc it is so small it is almost impossible to see. Anyone who is serious about watching this film should get this DVD instead of any other version in order to appreciate the opulent cinematography and majestic atmosphere of this epic.

The disc has over 100 minutes of old and new documentaries and news footage about the making of the film, plus two well-designed DVD-ROM features (for Windows PC only): a interactive map showing the various journeys undertaken by the real T.E. Lawrence, and a “split-screen” feature that simultaneously plays the movie and shows you text of behind-of-scene information of the particular chapter of the movie that is playing. Since the DVD lacks a second audio commentary, being able to watch the film while reading facts about it is not a bad substitute.

The included “booklet” is a reproduction of the 1961 program given to theater goers, we are told. A nice touch: the disc case resembles Lawrence’s diary in the movie.

The desert is a sea in which no oar is dipped.5
It is unsurprising to me that some people find Lawrence of Arabia boring. If you have the attention span of a hummingbird, this is not a film you will enjoy. It has no car chases, no bikini-clad supermodels, and nary a kung-fu move to be seen. Instead, all it offers is tortured respect for everything it touches. Lawrence of Arabia is a film that elevated the art of cinematic storytelling to new heights, and it shows. It is the journey, not the destination, that the viewer should focus on. In order to enjoy this film, you must make a commitment to watch it. Get comfortable, have something to drink on hand (you’ll know why about halfway through), turn off the phone, and put the remote under a pillow. I’ve seen a lot of films, and some I’ve liked to varying degrees, and others I’ve simply been satisfied that Hollywood didn’t butcher the underlying work or premise too badly in pursuit of the lowest common denominator. Lawrence of Arabia is different. It is one of those truly rare films that makes you feel grateful for having seen it, for the efforts of all those involved to craft, create, and perserve over the years just so you might have the chance to see it. It is such a fine film that its merits are obvious, and negative statements about it tend to simply reflect back on the critic.

Why? Many reasons. The actors are likewise gifted with rare talent, and superbly cast. The settings and scenes are invariably breathtaking. The plot is engrossing and entertaining without ever becoming heavy-handed. Film students will while away hours discussing everything from the Christ imagery to the undercurrents of homoeroticism, but they do that with every film. I suggest you simply kick back and enjoy an excellent, time-honored epic about a stranger in a strange land. It is a harrowing, draining journey, but one you will not regret.

Talk About Character Development !!!!! What A Classic Should Be!!!!!5
For me this epic film is tied with “A Bridge On The River Kwai” as the best movie ever made. This film had everything & more. The peerless acting of Peter O’Toole, Alec Guinness, Omar Sharif, Jack Hawkins, & Anthony Quinn were perfectly cast for their respective roles. Fine cinematography, direction, action, suspense, special effects, & musical score made this a mammoth production that took two years to complete.

Set in world war one in the turbulent middle east, T.E.Lawrence attempts to unite the Arabs to overthrow their Ottoman Turkish rulers. He starts as a mapmaker for British intelligence in Cairo. From the very first frames you can feel the extraordinary WILL of this man. He burns himself with matches saying to his comrade “the trick is not to mind that it hurts.” He is sent to spy on King Feisal{Alec Guinness}, but he soon finds that he identifies more with the arabs than with his fellow Brit’s. His brutal journey to the king under the scorching desert Sun alone is worth four stars. He develops an unexpected & intruiging relationship with an arab chieftain Sherif Ali{Omar Sharif}, that moves the film ever forward. Without orders he crosses the desert to lead a motley group of fifty men joining Auda Abu Tayi{Anthony Quinn}, to attack the Turks at Aqaba. With the victory comes his fame as US reporter Jackson Bentley{Arthur Kennedy}, brings the story to the media’s attention. He moves from one gruelling adventure to another showing an indomitable will that encourages his men to fight above what they thought their own abilities were. Lawrence Of Arabia is an epic that celebrates the empty silence of the arabian desert. the vast clips across the glowing desert show a tiny rider approaching, mesmerizing sunsets, battles, & camp details make this a masterpiece. Peter O’Toole gave the greatest performance ever in this film. I’m not saying that Gregory Peck did not deserve the Oscar for “To Kill A Mockingbird,” just that O’Toole deserved it a little more. The former still has never won the Oscar, which for me is an unpardonable sin!

Except for the missing power supply, this is a worthwhile product.4
First off, I agree with the other reviewers – this should have come with a power supply. I shouldn’t have to use the same one that came with my laptop, since the intention for most people is to be able to carry one with you as needed (it’s not like these HPs are rated highly for battery life). And once I have the quickdock set up and everything plugged in, like everyone else I’d prefer to just leave it connected and plug/unplug my laptop as needed for instant access. Fortunately, in my case, I bought an extra power supply which was part of a package deal from HP that included a laptop case and usb mouse. Still, HP should have included this with the quickdock, although the recent price drop to $79 compensates for this somewhat.

That being said, I hooked this up to a new HP DV2210US laptop and it worked like a charm. No issues with pass-through video, and the laptop quickly recognized every device I attached to the dock, including an external cd/dvd drive, external hard drive, printer, keyboard, and mouse. Based on what I had read, I was expecting something to go wrong, but the only issue I encountered was getting video output, and that was a matter of adjusting Windows to recognize an external monitor and nothing at all to do with the Quickdock. I also like the fact that one cable on the dock provides everything – particularly power (recharging my laptop battery as well), along with video and access to all the quickdock ports. And as soon as I disconnect, the unit goes to sleep until I connect later. This is exactly what I was looking for, since my goal was to eliminate a larger desktop pc. At the same time, it doesn’t require any quirky connections like older docking stations or take up any excess room on the desk. In fact, considering what you get it’s smaller than I had expected. Since I just received this recently, I’ll continue putting it through the paces and test the audio and s-video options as well. Beyond that, I think this is a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking for a quick and easy solution.

Nice Docking Station5
My HP computer has side USB ports, great for convenience but made a mass of wires. This docking station resolved the problem and then some. Now I have even more USB ports, a convenient disconnect, and a more useable system.

Some complain about the lack of an included power cord (and brick). I can see the problem if you travel with a lot. I don’t need the computer to travel often, so I just set the power cord up so it is easy to detach.

Simple Dock does what it needs to4
I bought this docking station to simply interface with my television, stereo, external hard drive, and Gyration wireless mouse and keyboard. The plug is a little difficult at times to line up, but the dock successfully interfaces with all of the above devices without any trouble – and gives a home to the myriad cords and connections. As has been implied in other reviews, HP’s tech support seems to know nothing about this device or its capabilities (I contacted them to try to resolve a few questions I had before I purchased it). It does not come with a power supply, which would make it it even more useful, but doesn’t require power except from the laptop for the tasks I am using it for. I simply leave the laptop plugged in on its own power supply or run it on battery.

Customer Reviews:

Priceless humor for any fan of the show5
This book isn’t some quick, half-hearted cash-in for How I Met Your Mother Fans, it’s basically Barney Stinson in paperback form. The Bro Code is hilarious. If you’re a fan of the show you’ll likely hear Neil Patrick Harris’ voice in your head as you read the book cover-to-cover. With diagrams, footnotes, and over 150 “codes” written by the show’s writers, this is a can’t miss book.

A good time, but less of a payoff in the eBook version4
I was looking for something that was low on think and high on laugh. This definitely fit the bill! You are most likely going to rip through this pretty quickly. Think of it as a collection of one liners that are likely to at least get you grinning and in some cases laughing out loud.

While the eBook/Kindle version gives you all the words, after looking at the print version, it definitely does not give you the full experience. Some of the great gags in here are tied to pictures and images in the book. While an attempt is made to include these in the eBook version, it really does not cut it. They are hard to make out and end up contributing far less to the fun than they do in the print version.

Clearly, this is one of those examples of what we sometimes lose in the translation from print copy to eBook.

A work to be honored and revered5
This is the first, and to my knowledge, only, reference guide to conduct that applies exclusively to bros and their conduct with each other.

It is being hailed as a “wonderful work of satire”, and “great for fans of the show.” I am glad that the curators of this tome have found success for connoisseurs of parody and situational comedy. While this may be valid, this work is, in fact, a definitive source of guidance on how one interacts and behaves with, in regards to, and around, his bros. As such, it should be treated with reverence and honor. Any humor to be found within is usually found from situational references, either from this “How I Met Your Mother” series (I may have to watch it, someday…), but more likely from one’s own history with his (or her) bros.

I have used this guide as a reference to dictate actions in no less than two critical bro-related situations, and it has helped me to maintain my bro-status among my bros. While there is nothing saying I would not have made the same decision without The Bro Code, it provides me a set of rules to reference in times of doubt, or at least to help justify my position.

While not discussed directly in The Bro Code, I believe that bro-type behavior should not be used exclusively with one’s bros. Rather, brohavior should be practiced in most areas of life and relationships. To that end, I have provided copies to all my bros, to help guide them in their decision making. I even provided copies to my supervisor and my brother-in-law, even though I would not technically call them bros.

In truth, this work applies to all walks of life. While it is geared specifically for bros and bro culture, it centers around the theory of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” That philosophy could serve to be explored in a more expansive work, possibly using stories and a mythology to help provide examples of how one should live their life according to a code of morals and ethics. Such a work could be religious in its impact…

But I digress. I can say this without hesitation: This guide has merit. I recommend it for anyone who wants to be a better friend, a better person, and, naturally, a better bro.

Basically the coolest dude ever, Barney Stinson has been compared to the Fonz—but Barney is much, much more awesome. INTRODUCTION

Whether we know it or not, each of us lives a life governed by an internalized code of conduct. Some call it morality. Others call it religion. I call it “the Bro Code.”

For centuries men have attempted to follow this code with no universal understanding of what such an arrangement meant: Is it okay to hug a Bro?* If I’m invited to a Bro’s wedding, do I really have to bring a gift?? Can I sleep with a Bro’s sister or mother or both?

Now, for the first time on paper, I have recorded the rules of social decorum that Bros have practiced since the dawn of man…if not before. The Bro Code previously existed only as an oral tradition (heh), so I have journeyed the globe to piece together and transcribe the scattered fragments of the Bro Code, pausing only to flesh it out myself (double heh). While not intending to write a “Guide to Being a Bro,” if men should treat it as such and pass this compendium of knowledge from one generation to the next, I have little doubt it would bring a tear to my eye. But not out of it. That would be a violation of Article 41: A Bro never cries.

It is my hope that, with a better understanding of the Bro Code, Bros the world over can put aside their differences and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. It is then, and only then, that we might work together as one to accomplish perhaps the most important challenge society faces — getting laid. Before dismissing this pursuit as crass and ignoble, consider this postulate: without the sport inherent in trying to bang chicks, would men willingly have sex for the sole purpose of producing smelly, screaming babies?

Centuries from now, when a Bro applies the rudiments of the Bro Code to score a three-boobed future chick, the only thanks I’ll need is the knowledge that I — in whatever small capacity — Bro’d him out…though if he could figure out how to bring me back to life, that would be pretty awesome, too. — Barney Stinson ™ & © 2008 by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. Great conditioner!5
This conditioner is the perfect conditioner! I have very fine hair that gets tangled easily. Despite wearing my hair long, this conditioner really keeps it soft and tangle-free. The gentle shampoo by Bumble and Bumble pairs with it extremely well, as does the thickening shampoo (but this shampoo dries out your hair if used every day). Take note: if you order it on the Bumble and Bumble website, you don’t pay shipping for orders over $50. I highly recommend this conditioner. Worth the money, and lasts a long time when you buy the large, value bottle.

Great conditioner5
This is a great conditioner and it won’t leave a greasy residue on your hair. For me, its worh every penny.

The best conditioner ever!!!5
This is the best conditioner for my long fuzzy hair, I have hightlights, and my hair tends to be brittle, this conditioner smoothens it out and gives a weight to my big curls I can style my hair any way I want it! Perfect!

Excellent product5
Excellent product at a great price.
I found a similar one at Northern Tools but it was not the right torque range. I am working on small engines and I needed a wrench calibrated for around 50 Inch/Pounds not Foot/Pounds. Price is great. Quality is excelent. Delivery was faster than expected. No complaints.

Weak product – GOOD SERVICE1
The torque wrench as received was defective. The written instructions warned against storing the wrench on any setting other the the weakest yet when received it was set at approx 75% – who knows how long it was in storage this way. After ruining a hex head bolt I asked for and immediately received a return authorization for a full refund. I did not order a replacement, choosing to go with a Wheeler.

Great Deal!5
Admittedly, I just used my Micrometer Torque Wrench for the first time today but I have to say – easy to use, great quality, great price…what more could a guy ask for!? Shipped very quickly, even in close proximity to the holidays, and was packed well. Case is sturdy as is the construction. What a deal – I’d highly recommend this tool. I’m primarily using it to work on my Honda Civic – I really like to try and follow the torque specs from my manual and got tired of “eyeballing” my 10 ft-lbf wrench. This tool makes a great addition to my set – why didn’t I do this sooner.
